OPPO is one of the pioneers in the smartphone industry when it comes to fast charging technology. Now, OPPO has introduced several new innovations in VOOC flash charging technology. The headlining new feature is the 125W Flash Charge technology and 65W AirVOOC wireless fast charging, which are the fastest in the industry at the moment.
These innovations come at a time when iQOO has already announced its own 120W fast charging technology, while Realme and Xiaomi are rumoured to be working on 120W and 121W fast charging technology as well. OPPO has also launched two compact VOOC fast chargers with 50W and 110W output.
OPPO 125W Flash Charge and 65W AirVOOC wireless charging
OPPO claims that the 125W Flash Charge can fully charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 20 minutes. The brand also announced that the 125W Flash Charge makes use of 20V/6.25A technology and Type-C interface with effective heat dispersal and optimal charging efficiency. The new charger comes with a specially customized intelligent control chip that regulates voltage, current and temperature.
There are also 10 additional temperature sensors apart from the existing four (three on phone and one on the charger) to ensure that the temperature of the smartphone never exceeds 40-degrees even while charging at 125W. The 125W Flash Charge is compatible with other industry standards as well including PPS, PPD and QC. The peak charging capacity of 125W is offered through PPS, whereas SuperVOOC and PD devices get 65W output. The MacBook Pro with USB PD support also gets 65W support.
Coming to the 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge technology, OPPO claims that it’s the industry fastest and can charge a 4,000mAh battery in just 30 minutes. This is the successor to the 40W AirVOOC wireless flash charging, which was introduced with OPPO Reno Ace2. OPPO showcased a vertical stand-type 65W AirVOOC wireless charger with features like dual-coil design, Qi compatibility, foreign object detection and multiple enhanced cooling methods.
OPPO 50W and 110W mini SuperVOOC chargers launched
Apart from the 125W SuperVOOC charger and 65W AirVOOC wireless charger, OPPO also announced 50W and 110W mini SuperVOOC chargers with a super-compact design. The 50W SuperVOOC charger is an ultra-thin compact charger that has a shape that resembles that of a business card case size, whereas, the 110W charger is similar in size as most 18W chargers in the market.
OPPO has managed to achieve this by adopting a new design that removes the conventional electrolytic capacitor. Instead, these chargers use the industry-first pulse charging method with aviation-grade high power clamping diodes and high frequency switching power supply technology.
