OPPO launched a budget-centric smartphone called the OPPO A12 in Indonesia last month. The smartphone featured diamond-cut back, waterdrop notch display and dual cameras as its key highlights. However, there was no word on the global launch of the smartphone at the time of the launch.

Now, the brand has officially announced the new budget smartphone in India. The OPPO A12 was launched in Indonesia in a single configuration with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. However, the company has launched two variants of the phone in India.
OPPO A12 specifications and features
The OPPO A12 ships with a 6.22-inch display with HD+ resolution, 89 percent screen-to-body ratio and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer on top. Handling the performance of the smartphone is the 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor, which is backed by a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. OPPO is offering A12 in India in two configurations – 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. The onboard storage can be expanded further using a microSD card up to 256GB.
In the optics department, the OPPO A12 is equipped with a dual-camera module on the back featuring a 13-megapixel primary sensor backed by a 2-megapixel secondary lens. The waterdrop notch on the front houses a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling.
The OPPO A12 boots ColorOS 6.1 based on Android 9 Pie and is powered by a 4,230mAh battery. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel for security. As for connectivity, the phone offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and a micro-USB Port.
OPPO A12 price in India
The OPPO A12 wll go on sale in leading offline and online stores in India starting June 10th. The base 3GB model will retail at Rs 9,990 and the 4GB variant is priced at Rs 11,490. The smartphone is being offered in Blue and Black colour options.
