OPPO seems to be on a massive launch spree across the world. The brand recently launched the OPPO Ace 2 in China, listed OPPO A92s silently on its official website in its home country, and also launched the OPPO Find X2 Lite by listing it on its official website in Portugal. The handset maker has now launched a budget-centric smartphone called the OPPO A12, and this time the device is listed on its official website in Indonesia. The smartphone features diamond-cut back, waterdrop notch display and dual cameras as its key highlights. Here’s everything you need to know about the newest A-series smartphone from OPPO.

The OPPO A12 flaunts a 6.22-inch HD+ display with HD+ resolution, 89 percent screen-to-body ratio and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer for protection. Ticking at the core of the device is the 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor accompanied by a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The chipset is further backed by 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, which can be further expandable using a microSD card. Powering the smartphone is a 4,230mAh battery and the device boots ColorOS 6.1 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. For security, the OPPO A12 offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the camera department, the affordable smartphone features a dual camera setup on the back. The setup comprises of 13MP main camera with f/2.2 aperture accompanied by 2MP secondary lens with f/2.4 aperture. The fascia of the handset is houses a 5MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture inside the waterdrop notch. The handset measures 155.9 x 75.5 x 8.3mm and weighs 165g. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and a micro-USB Port.

OPPO A12 price and availability

OPPO is offering the A12 in two colour variants – Black and Blue. The handset has been priced at IDR 2,499 (~Rs 12,300). There’s no word on the global or India launch of the device yet.
