Chinese tech giant OPPO is secretly working on a new budget-friendly phone called the OPPO A12e. Some of the key specifications and design elements of the smartphone have surfaced today. According to 91mobiles, where the information was first published, the OPPO A12e is a budget smartphone powered by a mid-range Snapdragon processor with expandable storage. While the pricing is yet to be announced, the smartphone is likely to launch in three color variants, namely red, purple, and black.

Citing information received from tipster Ishan Agarwal, the publication has stated that the OPPO A12e flaunts a 6.2-inch HD+ IPS LCD display. It could be sporting a waterdrop notch housing the front camera. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage expandable via a microSD card.
In terms of optics, the OPPO A12e features a dual-camera setup at the rear comprising a 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture alongside a 2-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The handset features an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Powering the OPPO A12e is a 4,230mAh battery with no fast charge support. The handset is rumored to measure 156.2 x 75.6 x 8.2 mm and weigh 170g.
In related news, the OPPO A12 was recently spotted in a Geekbench testing. The smartphone (model number CPH2083) is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC with 3GB of RAM and runs then Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS 6.1. The A12 scored 900 points during single-core testing and 3,754 points during multi-core testing. The handset was recently approved by Singapore’s IMDA authority. Since OPPO did not launch the OPPO A11 in India, the A12 and A12e are unlikely to launch in the country.
