OPPO A16 to launch in India soon, pricing tipped

OPPO A16 India launch has been tipped, as per a report in 91mobiles citing tipster Mukul Sharma. The handset was announced first in Indonesia back in July as the successor to last year’s OPPO A15. OPPO India is likely to tease the arrival of the A16 in the coming days.

The OPPO A16 is an entry-level phone that features a waterdrop notch display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a gaming optimised chipset. The handset is backed by a huge battery, and it has a 13-megapixel triple camera unit for photography.

According to tipster Mukul Sharma, the OPPO A16 will debut in the fourth week of this month. It is likely to be priced around Rs 11,000, and it is likely to be sold through online and offline channels.

The OPPO A16 features a 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate. The display notch houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and its back panel has a 13-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The Helio G35 chipset is present under the hood of the device. It is equipped with 3GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. It is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports only 10W charging.

The phone runs Android 11 overlaid with ColorOS 11.1. It offers other features like dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a USB Type-C port, a microSD card slot, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The tipster has also tipped that OPPO is working on the OPPO A55 smartphone for India. The handset is likely to go official by the end of this month. At present, there is no information available on the specs of the device.
