The upcoming OPPO A16 smartphone with model number CPH2296 has received approval from Malaysia’s SIRIM and Thailand’s NBTC authority. This phone was previously seen on other certification sites such as India’s BIS, Singapore’s IMDA, Europe’s EEC, Indonesia’s TKDN, and the FCC. Now that the phone has bagged multiple certifications it appears that its launch may not be far away.
The OPPO A16 moniker indicates that it could be arriving as the successor to the OPPO A15, which was launched in December 2020.
OPPO A16 key specifications
While the FCC listing had revealed a few specs of the OPPO A16, the SIRIM and NBTC listings have no new information on its specs. The OPPO A16’s FCC listing had revealed that the phone measures 163.78 x 75.62mm and it houses a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging. It will run ColorOS 11.1 and support connectivity features such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
The other specs of the A16 are yet to be confirmed. A schematic of the phone that was found in the FCC documents revealed that it features a rectangular camera module.
OPPO A15 specifications and features
Priced at Rs 8,990 in India, the OPPO A15 features a 6.52-inch IPS LCD HD+ panel with a waterdrop notch. It features a front 8-megapixel camera, and its rear has a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera system. The Helio P35 chipset powers the phone with 2GB / 3GB of RAM. It has a built-in storage of 32GB, and it is backed by a 4,230mAh battery with 10W charging. For security, it is fitted with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
