OPPO A31 with 6.5-inch display and triple rear cameras goes official

Recently, we reported that OPPO was planning to introduce a new A series handset called the OPPO A31. The phone’s press image, as well as almost the complete specs were also leaked. Today, the Chinese handset maker has quietly introduced the A31 in Indonesia. The OPPO A31 is listed on the brand’s website in Indonesia and is available to purchase major e-commerce portals in the country. The latest OPPO offering has arrived as an affordable handset with minimal bezels, a waterdrop notch above the screen, and a triple primary camera setup on the back.

The OPPO A31 offers slim bezels on the sides and top, but there’s a thick bottom bezel onboard. At the rear, the device has a fingerprint sensor in the middle towards the top. The handset has a 6.5-inch display bearing a resolution of 1,600 x 700 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. Under the hood, the device has an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor, which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. Software-wise, the handset boots ColorOS 6.1 that’s based on Android 9 Pie.

At the rear, the OPPO A31 has a 12MP primary camera at the back with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF (phase detection autofocus). The main sensor is paired with an 2MP f/2.4 camera for macro imaging and a 2MP f/2.4 shooter for depth-sensing capabilities. In the front, the handset is fitted with a single 8MP snapper. In terms of connectivity, the OPPO A31 has 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and A-GPS with GLONASS. A 4,230mAh battery completes the list of the specifications of the smartphone.

OPPO A31 price and availability

The OPPO A31 has been priced competitively at IDR 2,599,000 (~Rs 13,550). The phone comes in two colour variants, including Mystery Black and Fantasy White. The handset is available from the brand’s e-store and through major brick and mortar stores across the country. As of now, there’s no word when the phone will be launched in the other markets, but we can expect it to be available in India soon.
