Chinese smartphone maker OPPO launched the A5 budget Android smartphone in China in July this year. Currently, the handset is on sale in quite a few markets across Asia. At the time of its launch, the OPPO A5 was available in a single memory configuration with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. OPPO has now launched the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage option of the A5 in China. The new variant will be available in two new colors in the country before the end of this month.
OPPO A5 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage Variant Comes in Two New Colors
OPPO has listed two new color options for the A5 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant on its online store in China – Coral Red and Night Purple. While the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the smartphone was launched at CNY 1,500, the new 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant has been priced at CNY 1,000. The new variant will be available for purchase in China starting December 29 at 10:00 AM on the OPPO Shop online. Those who are interested in the new A5 variant can now reserve the handset online. Apart from the difference in the memory department, the new variant is identical to the 4GB RAM variant of the OPPO A5 that is on sale in various markets. There is a good chance that OPPO may launch the more affordable variant of the smartphone in a few more markets very soon.
The OPPO A5 comes with a 6.2-inch FullView IPS display featuring 720 x 1520 pixels HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Powering the smartphone is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 14nm mobile processor with an Adreno 506 GPU. In the camera department, OPPO A5 has a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup at the rear and an 8MP selfie snapper on the front. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G VoLTE. One of the key selling points of the handset is its large 4230mAh capacity battery. As for software, OPPO A5 currently runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1.
