In June, OPPO announced the OPPO A52 smartphone in India. The Snapdragon 665 powered phone debuted with a price tag of Rs 16,990. Today, the brand confirmed that it will be launching the OPPO A53 in India at 12.30pm on August 25th.
OPPO has shared a poster of the phone that not only confirms the launch date, but also reveals its design. As can be seen in the poster, the phone features a display with a punch-hole positioned at the upper-left corner. Also, the rear side of the phone has a fingerprint scanner and a triple camera system.
OPPO confirmed that the OPPO A53 supports a refresh rate of 90Hz. The company did not share any other information on its specifications. The specifications of the phone are already known since the handset went official in Indonesia yesterday, and it appears that the variant launching in India will feature similar specs.
OPPO A53 specifications and features
The OPPO A53 has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen that produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone runs ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10. It is the world’s first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 460 chipset. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. It has a microSD card slot for expanding the storage further.
The OPPO A53 has a 13-megapixel front camera, and a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple rear camera setup. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through USB Type-C.
OPPO A53 pricing and availability
In Indonesia, the OPPO A53 is priced at IDR 2,499,000 (~Rs 12,700) and it comes in colour options such as Electric Black and Fantasy Blue. In India, the phone will be priced under Rs 15,000.
