The OPPO A53s 5G phone will be launching at 12pm on April 27th in India. The company claims that it will be breaking cover as India’s most affordable 5G phone. The handset will be sold exclusively through Flipkart in the country.

Earlier this week, OPPO announced the Snapdragon 480 SoC powered OPPO A74 5G with an enticing price of Rs 17,990. It had debuted as the company’s first 5G-capable handset. OPPO will be confirming the complete specifications and pricing of the A53s 5G through its launch event.

OPPO India confirmed that the OPPO A53s 5G will be driven by the Dimensity 700 SoC. The above poster suggests that it will have more amount of RAM and it will offer impressive performance. A closer look at the camera island reveals that it has three cameras and an LED flash. The power button available on its right edge is integrated with a fingerprint scanner.

OPPO confirmed that the A53s 5G will be priced under Rs 15,000. It is likely to dethrone the Realme 8 5G, which debuted with a price tag of Rs 14,999 earlier this week.

The appearance of the OPPO A53s 5G phone appears similar to the OPPO A55 5G, which was announced with pricing of RMB 1,599 (~Rs 18,400) earlier this year.  The OPO A55 5G has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen that delivers HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. It has a front camera of 8-megapixel and its rear camera setup comprises a 13-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The A55 5G is powered by the Dimensity 700 chip and 4GB / 6GB of RAM. The device has an internal storage of 128GB and a microSD card slot for additional storage. It has a side-facing fingerprint scanner, and it features a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging.
