OPPO has launched an upgraded variant the A5 which was launched in August last year. The new variant is dubbed as the OPPO A5s and retains most of the specifications of its previous model, except the processor and display.
As for the technical specifications, the OPPO A5s sports the same 6.2-inch display bearing HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch on the top instead of the regular notch on the A5. The device also features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner compared to its previous model (although it is still unclear). The OPPO A5s can be availed in two new colour options – Black and Red, instead of Blue and Pink.
Under the hood, the A5s is driven by MediaTek’s Helio P35 chipset which is faster than the Snapdragon 450. It is paired with 3GB RAM and offers 64GB inbuilt memory expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. The device features a dual rear camera setup of 13+2MP sensors and an 8MP shooter on the front for capturing selfies.
The OPPO A5s is loaded with the dated Android 8.1 Oreo OS with the custom ColorOS 5.2 skinned on top. The device is backed by a 4,230mAh battery unit.
The pricing and availability of OPPO A5s has not been revealed yet. We will update you once it is announced.
