Oppo A7 With Waterdrop Notch Display and 4,230mAh Battery Goes Official

After months of leaks, the Oppo A7 has gone official today in multiple markets like China, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The smartphone is equipped with waterdrop notch that offers an impressive screen. The other major selling feature of the smartphone is that it features a large-sized battery.

Oppo A7 Specifications and Features

The Oppo A7 measures 155.9 x 75.4 x 8.1mm and weighs 168 grams. As far as the appearance of the phone is concerned, the model heading to China has a glossy rear panel whereas the non-China variant have a textured finish. It houses a 6.2-inch IPS LCD waterdrop notch screen that sports HD+ resolution and offers 88.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display of the phone is equipped with an anti-reflective coating.


The Snapdragon 450 chipset that includes 1.8 GHz octa-core processor is present under the hood of the Oppo A7. In China, the handset features 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Other countries have also received a lower-end model featuring 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. For more storage, the Oppo A7 offers a microSD card slot. The handset is fueled by 4,230mAh battery. It lacks support for fast charging.


The ColorOS 5.2 flavored Android 8.1 Oreo OS is preinstalled on the device. The front notch features a 16-megapixel selfie camera with HDR mode. The 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera is equipped with features like AI beauty, bokeh effect and multi-frame image stabilization technology. The connectivity features available on the smartphone include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, microUSB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack. A fingerprint scanner is available on the rear shell of the phone.

Oppo A7 Pricing and Availability

The Oppo A7 has landed in China with a price tag of 1,599 Yuan (~Rs. 16,500). The smartphone is currently listed for reservations on the official online Oppo store in the home market. It can be availed in multiple colors like Fresh Pink, Lake Light Green and Amber Gold. Other countries have received the smartphone in Glaring Gold and Glaze Blue colors. The Oppo A7 is also expected to arrive in India in the coming week.
