OPPO A9 2020 India launch scheduled for September 10th; to reportedly cost around Rs 21,000

OPPO has announced that it will be launching the OPPO A9 2020 smartphone in India at an event on September 10th. The event will start at 12 pm and is expected to be live-streamed on the brand’s social handles. The press invite for the event has confirmed that the OPPO A9 2020 will arrive with a quad-camera system at the rear, apart from the fingerprint sensor. The phone will be available in as many as four hues including Green, Blue, Black, and White, suggests the teaser furthermore.

The OPPO A9 2020’s press invite hasn’t revealed anything about the specs of the smartphone. However, the handset’s alleged complete specifications were leaked recently through a press render as well as its certification details in the database of TENAA. According to the leaks, the OPPO A9 2020 will come with minimal bezels on all the sides and a waterdrop notch above the screen. The handset is said to sport a 6.5-inch display bearing a resolution of HD+. Software-wise, the device is tipped to offer ColorOS 6.1 based on Android 9 Pie.

As for the other specs, the OPPO A9 2020 is rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 665 processor. The phone is said to come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage, which is expected to be further expandable via a microSD card slot. At the rear, the handset is said to offer four cameras – 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP. For selfies, there’s said to be a 16MP shooter on the front. A beefy 5,000mAh battery is expected to complete the list of the specs of the handset.

OPPO A9 2020 price in India

OPPO hasn’t yet revealed the pricing and availability details of the A9 2020. However, in a recent report, folks over at 91mobiles claim that the handset will be priced around Rs 21,000. Apart from the A9 2020, the brand will be launching two more affordable devices priced around Rs 15,000, the report further suggests.
