OPPO’s new A-series smartphone called the OPPO A92s has been doing the rounds for a while now, thanks to a number of leaks that surfaced more recently. We saw a couple of leaked posters as well as an MIIT certification page. Then there was the TENAA listing of the handset revealing key details and the design of the new smartphone. Now, the brand has gone ahead and launched the newest A-series smartphone in its home market by silently listing it on the official store in China and in JD.com. The latest OPPO A92s comes in as the company’s new mid-range 5G phone in China. Here’s everything you need to know about the new launch.
OPPO A92s specifications and features
The OPPO A92s ships with 6.57-inch Full HD+ 20:9 LCD display with high refresh rate of 120Hz. The display also offers an impressive screen-to-body ratio thanks to the dual punch-hole cutout on the front. The handset is the world’s first to launch with the MediaTek Dimensity 800 chipset. The processor belongs to the MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 5G chipset family and is intended for offering 5G solution in mid-range. The 7nm SoC is further backed by up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The smartphone boots the latest ColorOS 7.1 based on the latest Android 10 and is powered by a 4,000mAh battery. The battery further supports 18W fast charging as well. For security, the OPPO A92s comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Coming to the imaging, the OPPO A92s has the same unique square quad-camera module that we saw in leaks earlier. The camera island is home to a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture size, backed by 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP portrait lens. The dual-camera setup on the front comprises of 16MP f/2.0 Sony IMX471 sensor accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. Connectivity options include 5G (SA/ NSA), 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, and USB Type-C.
OPPO A92s price and availability
OPPO is offering the A92s in two colour variants – Black and White in China. The base 6GB variant has been priced at RMB 2,199 (~Rs 23,780) and the 8GB variant will set you back by RMB 2,499 (~Rs 27,000). The smartphone is already up for order in China and will go on sale starting April 29th. However, there’s no word on the India launch of the smartphone.
