OPPO A98 is likely to launch soon in China. Rumours surrounding the device reveal that it will be the most powerful A-series phone from the brand.

Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the upcoming A-series smartphone for the Chinese market will sport a curved edge display. The handset will come equipped with the Snapdragon 7-series chipset. In addition, it is expected to be impressive in departments like photography and fast charging. The tipster has not mentioned anything about the final marketing name of the device. However, it is being said that it may be released with the “OPPO A98” moniker in the market.

The OPPO A98 is expected to sport a curved edge display with a punch-hole design. With the bottom bezel measuring around 3.3mm, it seems that the A98 will offer an impressive screen-to-body ratio. While it does not clearly mention it, it appears that the A98 could be equipped with an OLED panel. The screen is tipped to support a Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 2160Hz of PWM dimming.

Under the hood, the OPPO A98 will feature the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform. There is no word on the memory configurations of the device. With a powerful chip onboard, the A98 may offer up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

The rear camera setup of the OPPO A98 could be headlined by a 108-megapixel main camera. The leak does not show anything on the auxiliary cameras of the A98. The handset is likely to house a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.

The OPPO A98 is expected to debut in November 2022 in China. At present, it is unclear whether it will be released in markets outside of China. The Reno 9 series is also tipped to launch in November in the home market. Rumours are rife that the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 powered OPPO Find N2 foldable phone and the OPPO Find N Flip phone will debut in December in China.
