OPPO has launched its latest Ace series smartphone called the Ace 2 in China today with loaded gaming-centric features. The new offering comes as a successor to the Reno Ace, which was announced back in October 2019. The OPPO Ace 2 flaunts a 90Hz refresh rate display with a 180Hz touch sampling rate as one of its key highlights. Other salient features of the handset include 65W Super VOOC flash charge, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and support for the dual-mode 5G network. Notably, the smartphone is also the first from the brand to offer wireless charging. Here’s what you need to know about the OPPO Ace 2.
OPPO Ace 2 specifications and features
The OPPO Ace 2 features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display featuring FHD+ screen resolution, 91.8 percent screen-to-body ratio and a punch-hole cutout in the top left corner. The display flaunts a high refresh rate of 90Hz along with an impressive touch response rate of 180Hz, which comes in handy during gaming. The display also flaunts features like E3 Luminescent panel, 402ppi pixel density, peak brightness of 1100nits, and fourth-generation in-display fingerprint scanner. Driving the performance of the handset is the flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC, which is further backed by Adreno 650 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 high-speed RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The gaming performance is further enhanced by Breeno Gaming Assistant, HyperBoost 3.0 and 4D Game Sense 2.0.
Coming to the imaging department, the OPPO Ace 2 features a quad-camera setup on the back comprising of a 48MP Ultra Clear primary sensor, 8MP wide-angle sensor, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP mono sensor. On the front, the punch-hole cutout is housing a 16MP shooter for selfies. Software-wise, the OPPO Ace 2 boots the latest ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10. The phone is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W Super VOOC flash charge. Notably, it is also equipped with 40W super-fast wireless charging, which the brand is calling AirVOOC.
OPPO Ace 2 pricing and availability
OPPO is offering the Ace 2 in three configurations – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB, which are priced at RMB 3,999 (~Rs 43,200), RMB 4,399 (~Rs 47, 500) and RMB 4,599 (~Rs 49,700), respectively. The OPPO Ace 2 comes in three colourways – Aurora Silver, Moon Rock Grey and Fantasy Purple. The handset is already up for pre-order in China. There’s no word on the India launch yet.
