OPPO recently launched the successors of its last year’s Reno3 and Reno3 Pro 5G in China through an online-only event. The new smartphones – the Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro are mid-range offerings with support for 5G networks, just like their predecessors. These smartphones were launched barely 6 months after their predecessors.
However, these phones were not the only devices launched at the online event. OPPO also announced a pair of true wireless earphones called OPPO Enco W51, as well as a fitness tracker called OPPO Band. The latter marks the debut of OPPO in the fitness tracker segment.
OPPO Enco W51 TWS earbuds specifications and features
The OPPO Enco W51 TWS earbuds are an upgrade over the existing Enco W31, which was launched in India in March. The latest earphones share the same design, but come with upgraded features like active noise cancellation (ANC) and wireless charging. The brand claims that the ANC on the Enco W51 can reduce noise up to 35db with the help of three mics present on either bud, which makes it six mics in total.
The Enco W51 features a low latency of 94ms, which is one of the best in the industry and ensures near zero audio lag during gaming and media consumption. The earbuds are powered by an upgraded dual-core chipset and support Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity. The earbuds also feature an IP54 rating, which makes them water and sweat resistant.
According to the company, the built-in batteries on the earbuds offer up to 4 hours of playback on a single charge. The charging case support both wired (Type-C) and wireless (Qi) charging. It offers up to 9 hours of playback in just 15 minutes of charging and can charge fully in 80 minutes. When fully charged, the case offers up to 24 hours of playback.
OPPO Band specifications and features
Coming to the OPPO Band, the brand is offering three variants including OPPO Band, OPPO Band Fashion, and OPPO Band EVA. While these three variants share the same core specifications, the Fashion and Eva variants have distinct traits. The former comes with a floating design featuring a metal ring, while the latter sports a Neon Genesis Evangelion anime-themed strap. The rest of the specs remain the same, except that the Fashion variant comes with support for NFC.
The OPPO Band comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED display featuring 294 x 126 pixels screen resolution, P3 colour gamut. OPPO has announced that it will roll out over 160 watch faces in the future, however at present only 5 watch faces are available on the wearable. Ticking at the core of the band is the Apollo 3 chip, which also powers the OPPO Watch. The fitness tracker is cross-compatible with Android 6 Marshmallow or above and iOS 10 or above. The fitness tracker offers a heart rate sensor, sleep monitoring and SpO2 sensor (blood oxygen level).
The OPPO Band features 5ATM water-resistance, which means it can survive being underwater up to 50 metres in depth for 10 minutes. Powering the fitness tracker is a 100mAh battery, OPPO claims can provide up to 14-days of battery life on a single charge. The fitness tracker can be charged via a cradle, which takes 1.5 hours to fully charge the device.
