Oppo F3 Plus to Re-Launch in a 6GB RAM Variant

On: November 13, 2017

The F3 Plus was launched earlier this year in March and was one of the first smartphones to feature a dual front-facing selfie camera setup. Oppo is looking to improve on this smartphone by adding some more RAM – 6GB in all, to be precise. The phone will sport similar internals as its 4GB RAM variant having the same processor and internal storage.

The new F3 Plus will also have the same rear camera setup – a 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 sensor with f/1.7 aperture. On the front it will retain the 8-megapixel and 16-megapixel setup. The 16-megapixel sensor is equipped to take high-resolution images while the 8-megapixel 120-degree wide angle lens is for covering more area and fitting more people in your group-fies.

In terms of internals, the phone will be powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 653 SoC by Qualcomm paired with the Adreno 510 GPU for enhanced graphics performance. As for the display of the device, it will be fitted with a 6-inch FHD display bearing a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top of it.

On the software front, the current variant of the phone runs on ColorOS 3.0 built on top of Android Marshmallow. We can expect the new phone to do the same as well with a likely upgrade to Android Nougat soon enough. It is still unknown whether the phone will receive the Oreo update. To run the show, the phone will draw power from its massive 4000mAh battery which can easily be topped up through Oppo’s proprietary VOOC quick charge technology.

As far as connectivity is concerned it will offer support for 2G, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, dual-band Wi-Fi and a microUSB 2.0 port on the bottom with support for USB OTG.

The Oppo F3 Plus will bear a price tag of  Rs 22,990, and will be up for grabs from November 16 exclusively via Flipkart. With this, Oppo may be looking to compete with the recently launched Moto X4 which is priced at Rs. 20,999.
