In 2018, OPPO launched the Snapdragon 845-powered Find X flagship. It came with an impressive curved display and a slider mechanism for its front and rear cameras. The company did not unveil its successor last year. However, it did confirm that the Find X2 will be debuting in Q1 2020. OPPO has revealed that the Find X2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform and will feature the latest custom image sensor from Sony. The Chinese firm has now announced that the Find X2 will go official on February 22nd at an event ahead of MWC 2020 in Barcelona, Spain.
The Find X2 launch event invite further states that the phone will be showcased at its booth at MWC 2020 that will be held between February 24th and 27th. The “uncover the ultimate” text in the invite suggests that the Find X2 will be arriving with flagship specs.
In January, the Thailand’s NBTC certification platform had revealed two OPPO phones, the standard Find X2 and the top-end Find X2 Pro. The same models were also approved by Malaysia’s SIRIM authority. At present, it is unclear how the X2 Pro differs from its standard version.
