OPPO had launched its flagship Find X smartphone way back in 2018. However, the brand did not launch its successor last year. Last month, OPPO had confirmed that the device would be unveiled in the first quarter of 2020. Now, the company’s VP and President of Global Marketing has teased the arrival of the OPPO Find X2 on Chinese micro-blogging platform Weibo. Soon after, CEO Chen Mingyong in an interview confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 865 processor with 5G connectivity. The Find X was the first smartphone with a completely bezel-less display and a motorised camera slider.
OPPO has also confirmed that the Find X2 will feature Sony’s latest image sensor with a 2 x 2 on-chip lens. Apart from the processor and camera details, the rest of the specifications are not known yet.
OPPO had demonstrated its under-display camera prototype in June last year. It’s speculated that the Find X2 will arrive with this technology. It also remains to be seen if the device will feature a portless-design. OPPO has claimed that the Find X2 will deliver a display with higher resolution, refresh rate, colour accuracy, and dynamic range. The Find X2 is expected to be equipped with industry-first features just like its predecessor. The Find X2 is expected to debut at MWC 2020 in the last week of February. Until then, we expect OPPO to share more teasers of the smartphone.
