The OPPO Find X5 series launch date has been confirmed for China. OPPO has revealed that it will be announcing the Find X5 lineup at 7 PM GMT+8 on February 24th, 2022. The lineup will include two flagship phones such as the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro for its home market.

OPPO’s global wing recently confirmed that it will be showcasing the Find X5 series at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) tech exhibition on February 28th, 2022. At the MWC event, the company is expected to unveil the Find X5 Lite mid-range phone alongside the X5 and X5 Pro.

OPPO Find X5 will feature the Snapdragon 888 chip

OPPO is speculated to announce multiple products through the February 24th launch event. A tipster from China claimed that the company will announce the OPPO Pad tablet, Enco X2 TWS earbuds, and OPPO Watch 2’s new colour variants. The Find X5 is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 888, whereas the Find X5 Pro will be fuelled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Speculations are rife there might be a device called the Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition featuring the Dimensity 9000 SoC. This model may remain exclusive to the Chinese market.

OPPO Find X5 Pro will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip

The Find X5 will come with a 6.55-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz screen, a 32-megapixel (Sony IMX709) primary camera, a Hasselblad optimised 50-megapixel (Sony IMX766, with OIS) + 50-megapixel (Sony IMX766 ultrawide) + 13-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit, and a MariSilicon X image processing chip. The Snapdragon 888 powered device will ship with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,800mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. It will come in purple, white, and black colours.

The Find X5 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED LTPO 2.0 QHD+ 120Hz display, MariSilicon X chip, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, 8GB / 12GB / 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB / 256GB / 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. It is likely to feature the same cameras that are available on the Find X5. However, it is speculated to carry support for dual OIS for rear cameras. The Pro model is expected to offer the same charging capabilities as the vanilla model. It may come in hues like blue, black, and white.

The Find X5 Pro Dimensity Edition is speculated to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED QHD+ LTPO 1.0 display, Dimensity 9000, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 25GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It may lack support for the MariSilicon X NPU chip. The rest of its specs may remain identical to the Find X5 Pro. As mentioned above, this device may not launch outside China.

The Find X5 Lite is likely to be a rebranded version of the OPPO Reno 7 5G that debuted in India earlier this month.  It is expected to offer specs like a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD+ 90Hz display, a 32-megapixel (Sony IMX615) front camera, a 64-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit, Dimensity 900, 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM, 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and a 4,500mAh with 65W fast charging.

The Find X5 series will come equipped with Android 12 OS with ColorOS 12.1 on top. All the models will be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Except for the Find X5 Lite that will carry an IP54 rating, the other Find X5 models will feature an IP68 rated chassis.
