Oppo has introduced its all new K-series of smartphones with the launch of the Oppo K1 today in China. The Oppo K1 is a mid-range phone from the company that comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Chinese brands such as Huawei, Vivo and Xiaomi have also made the feature available, but only on high-end smartphones as of now. The Oppo K1 is an affordable smartphone with a price tag of 1,599 Yuan (~Rs 17,000).
OPPO K1 Specifications and Features
Like the OPPO F9, the OPPO K1 features a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a waterdrop notch. It has full HD+ resolution of 2,340 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It produces a screen-to-body ratio of around 91 percent. The screen is overlaid with a layer of Gorilla Glass protection.
The Snapdragon 660 chipset is present under the hood of the phone. The rear of the phone features a 16-mgeapixel + 2-megapixel horizontal dual camera setup. The waterdrop notch houses a 25-megapixel selfie camera. The front and rear cameras feature AI capabilities for capturing enhanced shots.
The Oppo K1 runs the ColorOS flavored Android 8.1 Oreo. The handset is packed with other usual features such as a microSD card slot, dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, microUSB 2.0 and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Oppo K1 is powered by a 3,500mAh battery, but there is no support for fast charging.
Oppo K1 Variants, Pricing and Availability
The base model of the Oppo K1 features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The higher variant has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Both the models are priced at 1,599 Yuan (~Rs. 17,000) and 1,799 Yuan (~Rs. 19,000) respectively . The handset comes in two color gradient options – Van Gogh Blue and Mocha Red.
Pre-orders of the Oppo K1 have started today in China. The handset will be made available to purchase from October 19th in the country. Customers who pre-order the Oppo K1 will receive a selfie stick as a free gift. As the time of writing, there is no confirmation on whether the Oppo K1 will be released internationally.
