Earlier in February, OPPO introduced its newest K-series smartphone in India called the OPPO K1. With the phone, the Chinese tech giant aimed to increase its online presence in the country. However now, many months after the launch, the company has started selling the OPPO K1 in major brick and mortar retail stores across the country. The phone is available to buy in stores in a single variant that costs Rs 14,990. Notably, the OPPO K1 was originally launched with a price tag of Rs 16,990. The handset is available in two colour variants – Piano Black and Astral Blue.
OPPO K1 specifications and features
The OPPO K1 was originally launched as the most affordable phone in the country with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone features a waterdrop notch above the screen and dual primary camera setup at the rear. The handset has a 6.4-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent and a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 to protect the screen from scratches. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor. Configuration-wise, the phone offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Software-side of the things are handled by Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.2.
In the imaging department, the OPPO K1 features a 16-megapixel primary camera at the rear, which is accompanied by a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor and an LED flash unit. For selfies and video-calling purposes, the handset has a 25-megapixel camera on the front inside the waterdrop notch above the display. The cameras of the phone are AI-powered to enhance the image quality. The brand claims that the rear camera setup on the device can identify 16 independent scene and 120 scene combinations, which provide real-time portrait effects depending on the ambience.
In terms of connectivity, the phone has 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and A-GPS. A 3,600mAh battery keeps the whole package running.
