The OPPO K3 has gone official today in China as the successor to last year’s OPPO K1. Introduced with a price tag of 1,599 Yuan (~Rs 16,100), the smartphone is packed with some enticing features like a Snapdragon 710 chipset, full screen design, pop-up selfie snapper and support for rapid charging,
Display and Design
The OPPO K3 features a metallic frame that is flanked between glass panels on the front and rear sides. The 6.5-inch AMOLED display features full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The screen is embedded with a 6th-generation in-display fingerprint sensor and it is protected by Gorilla Glass 6. The Chinese firm has included some additional display features such as DC dimming, stroboscopic eye protection and an always-on sisplay. It delivers a screen to body ratio of 91.1 percent.
Performance
The Snapdragon 710 AIE mobile platform fuels the smartphone with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. For storage, it comes with up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage and a microSD card slot. It includes a 3,765mAh battery that supports VOOC 3.0 20W rapid charging.
ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie comes preloaded on the OPPO K3. The Chinese firm has included support for GameBoost 2.0, FrameBoost 2.0, LinkBoost 2.0 and TouchBoost 2.0 for smoother performance while gaming and intensive tasks. The smartphone comes with company’s Breeno AI assistant.
Cameras and Other Features
The OPPO K3 comes with a pop-up front camera of 16-megapixels. The glass rear panel of the phone has a vertical dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The various photography features that are available on the device include Ultra Clear Night View 2.0, handheld night scene mode, multi-frame noise reduction, AI portrait mode, AI intelligent scene recognition and dual-LED flash.
The OPPO K3 comes with other features like Dolby Atmos support, dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. The smartphone features 161.2 x 76 x 9.4mm and 191 grams.
OPPO K3 Release Date and Price
The OPPO K3 comes in Nebula Purple, Morning White and Farm Black colors. The 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage editions of the phone are priced at 1,599 Yuan (~Rs 16,100), 1,899 Yuan (~Rs 19,100) and 2,299 Yuan (~Rs 23,150) respectively. Both 6GB RAM variants of the smartphone will be available for purchase in China from June 1st, while the 8GB RAM version will be available later in the month.
OPPO had released the OPPO K1 smartphone in India in February this year. Hence, there is a possibility that the Chinese firm may launch the OPPO K3 in the country.
