Earlier this month, OPPO had launched the Reno 3 Pro in India, while its 5G version had went official in China last December. The brand had also launched the standard Reno 3 with 5G connectivity alongside the Pro variant in China. Now, OPPO has launched the global version of the non-Pro model dubbed as the Reno 3 4G. It comes with toned-down specifications compared to the Pro variant. Let’s find out what the smartphone offers out of the box.
OPPO Reno 3 4G specifications and features
The OPPO Reno 3 4G retains the 6.4-inch display with FHD+ resolution from its Pro variant. However, the latest offering comes with a waterdrop notch instead of a punch-hole cutout. Unlike the Pro variant, there is a thick chin at the bottom of the display. The design is similar to the smartphone’s Chinese counterpart. The Reno 3 4G comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a glass back panel that houses a quad-camera setup at the top left corner.
The Reno 3 4G also borrows the Pro variant’s camera setup apart from the primary sensor. The configuration consists of a 48MP main sensor (down from 64MP on Reno 3 Pro), a 13MP telephoto lens, 8MP ultra-wide-angle snapper and 2MP depth camera. The smartphone offers 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom along with features like Ultra Dark Mode, Ultra Steady Video, Video Bokeh etc. In the front, the Reno 3 4G is fitted with a 44MP selfie snapper.
On the hardware front, the Reno 3 4G is equipped with a MediaTek Helio P90 processor compared to the Helio P95 on the Pro model. The latest smartphone is offered in a 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The Reno 3 4G is backed by a 4,025mAh battery unit which is the same as the Pro variant. It supports the VOOC 3.0 Flash charging tech. Out of the box, the smartphone runs Android 10. Connectivity options on the Reno 3 4G include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi and a USB Type-C port.

India specific launch details are not known yet. One can expect the Reno 3 4G to be priced cheaper than the Pro variant, which costs Rs 29,990.
