OPPO Reno 3 coming in December with dual-mode 5G and ColorOS 7

Yesterday, OPPO held an event in its home market of China and introduced its latest custom Android skin called ColorOS 7. At the sidelines of the event, the company has announced that it’s upcoming OPPO Reno 3 will be the first smartphone to offer ColorOS 7 out of the box. In addition, the Chinese tech giant has revealed that the OPPO Reno 3 will be launched in December this year. The phone will come with support for dual-mode 5G support, which means that the handset will be compatible with both the SA and NSA 5G standards.

OPPO Reno 3 specifications and features

Apart from 5G support and ColorOS 7, OPPO hasn’t revealed anything else about the features of the Reno 3 at the moment. Also, there’s no word if the ColorOS 7 version the phone will be based on Android 10, or it will be stuck on Android 9 Pie. We do know that thanks to the new ColorOS version, the user interface of the Reno 3 will have a more rounded design combined with lighter colours. The handset will have a handful of brand new wallpapers from the brand, apart from enhanced memory optimisation, smoother UI interaction, improved Breeno assistant, and more.

According to the earlier reports, the OPPO Reno 3 will feature a 6.5-inch display bearing full HD+ resolution. The phone is said to flaunt a high screen refresh rate of 90Hz and will have an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is expected to offer a similar design language as the earlier Reno series phones. The handset is rumoured to have a quad-camera setup at the rear. The phone is tipped to have a 64MP primary camera setup at the back, which will be accompanied by three more lenses – 8MP, 16MP, and 2MP. For selfies, the device is expected to have a 32MP shooter on the front.

As for the other specs, the OPPO Reno 3 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 735 processor, which will be aided by up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The handset is said to be fuelled by a massive 4,500mAh battery. Lastly, the rumour mill suggests that the Reno 3 will be available at the starting price of around Rs 34,000.
