OPPO launched its Reno series of smartphones as flagship devices, with the Reno 10X Zoom Edition featuring a Snapdragon 855 processor. However, the series has evolved to focus on the mid-range. Last year’s Reno3 and Reno3 Pro 5G came in as mid-range offerings with support for the next-gen 5G networks. The brand only launched the global variant of the Reno3 Pro (review) handset in India, which is a bit different from its Chinese edition.
Barely half a year in, and the Chinese smartphone maker has launched the next generation smartphones in the Reno line-up. Named the OPPO Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro, here’s what the latest phones offer in terms of specifications.
OPPO Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro specifications and features
The OPPO Reno 4 and 4 Pro come with 6.4-inch and 6.5-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ displays with single and dual punch-hole cameras, respectively. The displays also support a high refresh rate of 90Hz, Powering the smartphones is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset with support for 5G connectivity. The smartphones offer up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Out of the box, the Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro both boot the latest Color OS 7.2, based on Android 10.
Coming to the camera department, both the vanilla and Pro variants feature 48-megapixel triple camera setup on the back. While the former gets an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, the latter features a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor. In the front, the Reno 4 Pro offers a 32-megapixel selfie shooter and the standard variant gets a secondary 2-megapixel sensor in addition to the same.
Powering these handsets is a 4,000mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge Technology, which is also found on the OPPO Reno Ace series.
OPPO Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro pricing and availability
OPPO is offering the Pro model in two variants – 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB, which will retail at RMB 3,799 (~Rs 40,490) and RMB 4,299 (~Rs 45,800) respectively. The standard Reno 4, on the other hand, is being offered in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants, priced at RMB 2,999 (~Rs 32,000) and RMB 3,299 (~Rs 35,150) respectively.
