The OPPO Reno 6 5G, Reno 6 Pro 5G, and Reno 6 Pro+ 5G smartphones have launched in China. These phones have arrived as the successor to the Reno 5 5G, Reno 5 Pro 5G, and Reno 5 Pro+ 5G, smartphones that debuted the brand’s home market back in December 2020.
The Reno 6 series of smartphones feature a punch-hole display and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Reno 6 and Reno 6 Pro are powered by new Dimensity chipsets, whereas the Pro Plus features a flagship Snapdragon 8xx series SoC. Like their predecessors, the Reno 6 come with advanced camera features.
OPPO Reno 6 series specifications and features
The OPPO Reno 6 5G has a 6.43-inch flat AMOLED display, whereas the Reno 6 Pro 5G and Reno 6 Pro+ 5G are fitted with a 6.55-inch curved AMOLED screens. The displays on all phones feature Full HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, an in-screen fingerprint scanner and Gorilla Glass 5 portection.
The Reno 6 5G is the world’s first smartphone to feature the recently announced Dimensity 900 chipset. The Reno 6 Pro gets the more powerful Dimensity 1200 chipset, whereas the Reno 6 Pro+ is fuelled by the Snapdragon 870 flagship chip. All three phones come with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The Reno 6 5G can be bought in 128GB / 256GB UFS 2.1 storage variants, whereas the Pro and Pro+ editions can be purchased in 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage options.
The OPPO Reno 6 series feature a 32-megapixel front-facing camera that offers features like professional mode, panorama mode, portrait mode, night scene mode, time-lapse photography, and 30fps FHD video recording. The selfie camera of the Pro+ supports an video anti-shake stabilisation feature. The rear-facing camera island of the Reno 6 5G features a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B main camera an f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The quad-camera unit of the Reno 6 Pro 5G features the same three cameras in addition to a 2-megapixel B&W lens.
The OPPO Reno 6 Pro+ 5G has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera, a 16-megapixel Sony IMX481 ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree FOV, a 13-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The rear cameras of the Reno 6 series offer photography features like professional mode, portrait, panorama, AI scene recognition, multi-scene mode, slow-motion video shooting, and up to 60fps 4K video recording.
The Reno 6 gets a 4,300mAh battery, whereas the other handsets are backed by a 4,500mAh battery. All three phones support 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging. Other features that are available on the Reno 6 lineup include ColorOS 11.3 based on Android 11, face unlock, dual-SIM support with 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (dual-frequency GPS on Pro and Pro+), NFC, 4D game vibrator (on Pro+ only), and USB Type-C.
OPPO Reno 6 series pricing and availability
The OPPO Reno 6 5G comes in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variants, priced at RMB 2,799 (~Rs 31,850) and RMB 3,199 (~Rs 36,400), respectively. The Reno6 Pro 5G comes in same configurations and they are priced at RMB 3,499 (~Rs 39,800) and RMB 3,799 (~Rs 43,200), respectively. Both phones can be purchased in hues such as Summer Sea (white), Galaxy Dream (blue), and Night Sea (black).
The Reno6 Pro+ 5G also comes in the same variants, and they are priced at RMB 3,999 (~Rs 45,500) and RMB 4,499 (~Rs 51,200), respectively. It comes in colours like Sumer Harumi (white) and Moon Sea (grey). Rumours suggest that the Reno 6 series will debut in July in India.
