OPPO Reno 8 series India launch has been officially confirmed. A tweet released by the brand reveals that it will be “coming soon” to the country. A recent leak claimed that the Reno 8 series will be launching on July 18th, 2022. However, known tipster Abhishek Yadav has tipped a new launch date today.
To recall, the Reno 8 lineup debuted in China back in May this year. In China, the company is offering three devices, namely, the Reno 8, the Reno 8 Pro, and the Reno 8 Pro+. However, reports have claimed that the Pro and Pro+ models may get rebranded as the Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro in India.
OPPO Reno 8 series India launch teased
The first teaser for the OPPO Reno 8 series reveals that the Reno 8 Pro will be equipped with the MariSilicon X imaging NPU and will support 4K ultra-night videography. The landing page of the Reno 8 lineup available on OPPO India’s website will reveal more details in the coming days.
According to a new tweet by tipster Yadav, OPPO will be unveiling the Reno 8 series at 12 pm on July 21st, 2022. Now that the company has started teasing the Reno 8 lineup’s arrival, it may confirm the launch date in the coming week.
OPPO Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro specifications (rumoured)
The Reno 8 will be equipped with a display measuring 6.62-inches and having a resolution of FHD+ and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It will come with a 32-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera unit.
It may be available in two configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. It is likely to arrive in Shimmer Black and Blue colours.
The Reno 8 Pro will have a display with a resolution of 6.7 inches and a refresh rate of 120Hz, a Dimensity 8100 chipset, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and as much as 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Its front and rear cameras will be identical to those found on the vanilla model.
In addition, both phones will be equipped with additional features such as an in-screen fingerprint reader, and a 4,500mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. Both smartphones will run on the Android 12 OS with ColorOS 12.1 on top.
