OPPO has just announced its latest Reno and K series smartphones at an event in its home market of China. The company has introduced the Reno Ace and OPPO K5. The OPPO Reno Ace has arrived as the world’s first smartphone to flaunt 65W fast charging technology. As for the OPPO K5, it is the brand’s first smartphone to boast a 64MP camera at the rear. It will join the club of the other 64MP camera phones like the Realme XT, Redmi Note 8 Pro and Samsung Galaxy A70s.
OPPO Reno Ace specifications and features
The 65W Super VOOC fast charging technology of the OPPO Reno Ace allows the smartphone’s 4,000mAh battery to fully charge in just 30 minutes. After charging five minutes, you can get two hours of regular usage, thanks to the new Super VOOC fast charging support. Notably, this tech is touted to sport five layers of fast charging protection to keep the heat down while charging or even gaming. Under the hood, the OPPO Reno has Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855+ processor that offers a clock speed of 2.96GHz. The handset comes in multiple RAM and storage variants – 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB. The other highlight of the device includes an impressive 6.5-inch screen with a 90Hz screen refresh rate. Also, the handset has a touch sampling rate of 135Hz.
In the camera department, the OPPO Reno Ace offers a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary camera at the rear. The main sensor is accompanied by an 8MP super wide-angle lens, a 13MP telephoto camera, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. For selfies, there’s a 16MP camera onboard the device that’s placed inside the waterdrop notch above the screen. The connectivity features are standard including 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and A-GPS.
OPPO K5 specifications and features
As for the OPPO K5, the 64MP camera-toting handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G processor, which sports a clock speed of 2.2GHz. The phone is being offered in three RAM and storage configurations – 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB. This one also offers a 4,000mAh battery, which supports 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging technology. As for the other specs, the handset has a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. The device boots Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 out of the box and gets an in-display fingerprint sensor for security, just like the Reno Ace.
Talking about the camera specs, the OPPO K5 has a 64MP Samsung Bright GW1 ISOCELL sensor at the back, just like the aforementioned three devices from Realme, Redmi, and Samsung. The main sensor is aided by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. In terms of connectivity, you get the same specs as the Reno Ace.
OPPO Reno Ace and K5 price and availability
Talking about the OPPO K5 first, the phone’s base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage costs RMB 1,899 (~Rs 19,000), while its most high-end model will set you back by RMB 2,499 (~Rs 25,000). As for the OPPO Reno Ace, the phone’s introductory 8GB + 128GB model is priced at RMB 3,199 (~Rs 32,000), and its most-expensive variant costs RMB 3,799 (~Rs 37,950). They will be initially available in China later this month.
