OPPO Reno to Arrive in Two Versions, Confirms Company’s Vice President

On: March 25, 2019

OPPO Vice President Shen Yiren Brian today confirmed on Weibo that the upcoming Reno smartphone will come in two versions. The ‘flagship’ OPPO Reno version will have 10x lossless zoom support, while the ‘lite’ version will cater to users with different needs. It should be noted that both the flagship and lite variants of the OPPO Reno have been certified by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).

OPPO Reno Pro and Reno Lite Incoming?

According to Bluetooth SIG, the flagship OPPO Reno version will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor under the hood. It will feature a 6.65-inch Full HD+ resolution display and a triple-camera setup on the back. The smartphone will have a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP secondary sensor, and a tertiary 13MP sensor. On the front will be a 16MP resolution snapper for selfies. The Snapdragon 855-powered version of the OPPO Reno will arrive in two variants – CPH1919 and CPH1921. While CPH1919 will have 4G LTE support, the CPH1921 will have 5G support.

On the other hand, the ‘lite’ version of the OPPO Reno will pack a Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor. Not only will the lite version run on a less powerful chipset, it will have a smaller display as well. The Reno ‘lite’ will come with a 6.4-inch display featuring Full HD+ resolution. In the camera department, it will have a 48MP + 5MP dual-camera setup at the rear and a 16MP selfie camera on the front. On the software front, both versions will be running on OPPO’s latest ColorOS 6.0 based on Android Pie right out of the box.

Around a week back, Shen Yiren Brian took to Weibo to announce that the upcoming OPPO Reno smartphone will have a 93.1% screen-to-body ratio. While the number is no doubt impressive, it is very slightly lower than the 93.8% screen-to-body ratio of the OPPO Find X. Rumors suggest the smartphone will be available with a 4065mAh battery and up to 512GB of internal storage. The OPPO Reno is set to be launched in China on April 10.

While the company’s Vice President confirmed the Reno will arrive in two versions, OPPO has posted a video on its Weibo page showing how the smartphone is made in its “Unbelievable Factory”.
