The OPPO Reno was unveiled in China earlier this month in two editions – a Snapdragon 855 variant that supports 10x hybrid zoom as well as a standard Snapdragon 710 version. The SD855 model was introduced as the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition and the SD710 variant was simply dubbed as the OPPO Reno. Now, an exclusive report by 91mobiles claims that the OPPO Reno series will be coming to Indian markets.
The exact launch date for OPPO Reno and 10x Zoom Edition models are not yet available. What’s known is that the OPPO Reno series may go official by the end of the second quarter of the year, around the end of June. Similar to Realme, OPPO might also launch Reno as a separate brand.
The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition with Snapdragon 855 will rival the Vivo iQOO gaming phone that is expected to go official in India in May or at the beginning of June. There are no details on the pricing of the OPPO Reno series smartphones. In China, the base variant of the OPPO Reno costs around Rs 30,000 whereas the staring model of the 10x Zoom Edition is priced at nearly Rs 41,000.
OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Specifications
The OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition comes with a 6.65-inch AMOLED display that supports full HD+ resolution and comes equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The shark-fin shaped pop-up camera module features a 16-megapixel selfie camera and an LED flash.
The Snapdragon 855 SoC of the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition is assisted by up 8GB of RAM. It comes with up to 256GB of native storage. ColorOS 6.0 based Android 9 Pie OS comes preloaded on the device. The 4,065mAh battery of the phone supports 20W VOOC flash charging. The triple camera setup of the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom comprises of an OIS-enabled 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 13-megapixel periscope-type telephoto lens with OIS and laser autofocus. There is no 3.5mm audio jack on the device.

The OPPO Reno model that is powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC sports a 6.4-inch full HD+ AMOLED display. The same shark-fin shaped 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera module with LED flash is also available on the device. The Snapdragon 710-powered smartphone comes with up to 8GB of RAM and a maximum inbuilt storage of 256GB. There is no microSD card slot on the handset.
The rear shell of the phone features a 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. Its 3,765mAh battery also supports 20W rapid charging. It comes preinstalled with ColorOS 6.0 flavoured Android 9 Pie. OPPO has retained the 3.5mm audio jack on the Oppo Reno smartphone. Like the 10x Zoom Edition, the SD710 variant features an under-display fingerprint sensor.
