OPPO seems to be planning to expand its Reno series of smartphones in India soon. According to a report by 91mobiles, the next in the Reno lineup from the Chinese tech giant will be the OPPO Reno S smartphone. The source claims that the phone will arrive with support for a whopping 65W Super VOOC 2.0 fast-charging, which will make it the first handset in the country to offer this technology. The Reno S will be the sixth Reno series smartphone in the country after the Reno, Reno 10x Zoom, Reno2, Reno2 F, and Reno2 Z.
According to the source, the OPPO Reno S will be a flagship offering that could be powered by Qualcomm’s latest top-end chipset, the Snapdragon 855 Plus. The smartphone is tipped to feature a 64-megapixel primary camera at the rear. The source suggests that the OPPO Reno S will be priced higher than Rs 40,000, which will make it the most expensive Reno series model in the country. Lastly, the report claims that the flagship will be released in India at some point in December.
No other details regarding the specs of the OPPO Reno S are available at the moment. However, since it will be a flagship offering, we can expect it to feature four primary cameras at the back, an under-display fingerprint sensor, and a full-screen design with almost non-existent bezels. Since the phone is said to feature 65W fast-charging tech, we can expect it to boast a massive battery under the hood. However, none of this is officially confirmed at the moment, so we will have to wait and watch what OPPO has up its sleeves for the next Reno offering.
The most recent Reno series phone that went on sale in India is the OPPO Reno2 F. The phone is a mid-range offering with a pop-up selfie camera, a quad-camera setup at the rear, and an under-display fingerprint sensor. The handset is available in the country for Rs 25,990.
