OPPO Reno4 F announced; it’s a rebranded OPPO F17 Pro with 18W charging

In early September, OPPO announced the OPPO F17 (review) and F17 Pro (review) smartphones in India. Both phones are being rebranded with new names in different markets. The F17 was rebadged as the OPPO A73 in Tunisia. The F17 Pro arrived in Ukraine as the OPPO Reno4 Lite and it went official in Vietnam as the OPPO A93. The same phone has now debuted in Indonesia as the OPPO Reno4 F.

The only major difference between the OPPO F17 Pro and Reno4 F is that the latter supports slower charging speeds. The new Reno phone offers a dual punch-hole display and a 48-megapixel quad-camera system. The smartphone also boasts a super-slim design.

The OPPO Reno4 F debuts as a rebranded version of the F17 Pro in Indonesia

The OPPO Reno4 F has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display that produces a full HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It has a 60Hz screen that supports 800 nits peak brightness. The display is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass. OPPO claims that the Reno4 F offers a high screen to body ratio of 90.7 percent.

The MediaTek Helio P95 chipset powers the OPPO Reno4 F with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. It comes with 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage and a microSD card slot for additional storage. The F17 Pro and A93 carry support for 30W VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge for their 4,000mAh batteries. However, the Reno4 F supports only 18W charging.

The dual selfie camera system of the Reno4 F features a Sony IMX471 16-megapixel main camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front cameras support 30fps full HD video recording. The quad-camera system of the Reno4 F has a Samsung GM1 48-megapixel primary shooter with f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a pair of 2-megapixel mono cameras. The rear snappers support EIS, super video stabilisation, 30fps 4K video shooting, and 120fps full HD recording.

The OPPO Reno4 F boots to ColorOS 7.2 UI based Android 10. It comes with other features like an in-display fingerprint reader, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The OPPO Reno4 F is priced at IDR 4,299,000 (~Rs 21,400) in Indonesia. The handset is now for pre-orders in the country and it is scheduled to go on sale on October 16th. The handset comes in two colours such as Metallic White and Matte Black.
