The OPPO Watch 2 has been launched in China. It has arrived as the successor to company’s first smartwatch called the OPPO Watch which debuted last year. The OPPO Watch 2 has arrived in two sizes such as 42mm and 46mm.
The Watch 2 is powered by Snapdragon Wear 4100, which is the most recent smartwatch chip from Qualcomm. It is equipped with a large-sized AMOLED display and a big-sized battery. The e-SIM feature on the smartwatch brings support for voice calling and call forwarding.
OPPO Watch 2 specifications and features
The 42mm variant of the OPPO Watch 2 comes in two different configurations – a Bluetooth only version and a eSIM version. The 46mm variant, on the other hand, comes in a single version with e-SIM support.
The 42mm model has a 1.75-inch flat AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 372 x 430 pixels and a 326ppi pixel density. It houses a 360mAh battery that can last for up to 10 days. The company claims that it takes around 60 minutes to fully charge the smartwatch. The 46mm variant has a larger 1.91-inch AMOLED display with curved edges, screen resolution of 402 x 476 pixels and a 326ppi pixel density. The 510mAh battery of the 46mm model allows it to last for up to 16 days.
The OPPO Watch 2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 chip and an Apollo 4s co-processor. The company claims that the Ultra Dynamic Dual Engine (UDDE) available on the smartwatch helps in extending its battery life. The Watch 2 comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of RAM.
The Watch 2 is equipped with multiple sensors such as a 3-axis acceleration sensor, gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, optical heart rate sensor, optical pulse oximetry sensor, ambient light sensor, air pressure sensor, and capacitance sensor. It can track 100+ sports modes and offer health tracking features like daily activity tracking, heart rate tracking, sleep monitoring, SpO2 monitoring, stress monitoring, snoring risk assessment, and so on.
The OPPO Watch 2 runs on ColorOS Watch 2.0 which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and it is compatible with Android devices running on Android 6.0 or above. On the connectivity front, the OPPO Watch 2 comes with support for 4G LTE through e-SIM, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and NFC for contactless payments. The Watch 2 is a 5ATM water-resistant device. OPPO Watch 2 pricing and availability
The 42mm OPPO Watch 2 is priced at RMB 1,299 (~Rs 14,900) for Bluetooth-only variant while the e-SIM variant is priced at RMB 1,499 (~Rs 17,200). The former comes in Platinum Black colour, whereas the latter can be purchased in hues like Platinum Black and Orange Gold. The 46mm variant carries a price tag of RMB 1,999 (~Rs 22,900) and it comes in Star Blue and Platinum Black colours. It is unclear whether OPPO will be releasing the Watch 2 models in India.
