The Fast and the Furious


The Fast and the furious is a 2001 released action film concerned with street racing, heists, crime, spies, friends, and family. The movie was originally directed by Rob Cohen and produced by Neal H. Moritz. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker were the famous Hollywood faces who were in the movie’s main star cast. Been rated PG-13, the fast and the furious featured a street racer Dominic Toretto (Played by Vin Diesel), and his crew under the radar of the Los Angeles Police Department after a series of dangerous and high-speed robberies in the neighborhood of Los Angeles. Brian O’Conner (Played by Paul Walker), who happens to be an undercover police officer, takes part in the action and befriends Toretto to investigate the ongoing heists and criminal matter. Brian becomes so attracted to the risky and thrilling life of speed racing that he finds himself in a dilemma as to what he should choose. Trying to find where his true loyalty lies, is it in the world of street racing or is it his job that he had been sent to perform? The movie is a perfect blend of drama, action, thriller, and romance as well. The Fast and Furious was made with an estimated budget of 38 million dollars, but it broke all records and became one of the highest-grossing movies of that time by making an estimated profit of 207.3 million dollars all over the world. The fans were so thrilled and excited with the amazing speed-racing concept of the film that they were left wanting more. Towards the end of the fast and the furious, in the post-credits scene, the movie’s main character Dominic is seen driving a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS through Baja California, Mexico, which makes it clear that the car racing series will be back with a sequel. Soon the movie was renewed for a sequel. 2 Fast 2 Furious

2 Fast 2 curious is a 2003 released action-crime film, which is also the sequel to 2001 released the fast and the furious. After the heartfelt responses and success that part one of the series managed to gather, it was only fair to expect good things from the sequel too. Paul Walker was back again playing the role of Brian O’Conner, but this time he was seen partnering up with Roman Pierce (played by Tyrese Gibson), who happened to be an ex-convict friend of his. The duo was seen venturing up to bring down Carter Verone (played by Cole Hauser), who happened to be a dangerous drug lord. As a chance to redeem himself and erase his own personal criminal record, Brian was pulled back into the deadly game, but this time, he was up against one of the deadliest drug lords out there. The movie gained an IMDB rating of 6.9 and continued exploring its genres of crime, action, and thriller. Vin Diesel and Rob Cohen were missing in the sequel, Vin played Dominic, and Rob was the director. Unfortunately, Vin could not return for the sequel, but he surely kept up with the Fast and furious film series and was later back in the other parts of the movie. The sequel was directed by John Singleton and adapted from a screenplay given by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas. Neal H. Moritz returned as the producer. There were a few additional cast members this time, and the thrill was just the same. The 108-minute-long film managed to gain a box office profit of about 236.4 million dollars and once again entered the list of the highest-grossing films of the year 2003.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is a 2006 action film released in the third part of the previously released fast and furious film series. This part was directed by Justin Lin and produced by Neal H. Moritz. The movie’s main cast members including Paul Walker and Vin Diesel were missing from this part. However, a few fresh faces were added to the cast, including Lucas Black (who played the role of Sean Boswell) and Sung Kang (who played the role of Han Lue). Always having lived with the feeling of an outsider Sean, found the true meaning of his life and never felt more alive than on a racetrack speeding up the engines of cars but having become unpopular with the authorities and being under constant threat of serving jail time. Sean was sent to live with his father in Tokyo, Japan. Things do not go as planned for Sean, and he again finds himself entangled in crime and danger, it was there in Tokyo he learns more about a different kind of dangerous sport, and to make things worse, Sean falls in love with the girlfriend of the local champion whom he had taken up on the offer to fight with. The car racing was taken on a different level in this part and there was music, crime, romance, and drama to complement the overall theme of the film. One song that became quite a hit from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift was “Tokyo drift”. It was also the first film in the Fast and furious franchise that featured an international location. The film managed to get an IMDB rating of 6 and made a gross profit of 159 million. The 104 minutes long film is available to stream on various online media platforms and websites. Fast & Furious is a 2009 released action film that also goes by the name of (Fast and furious 4). The movie is a continuation of the 2006 released film. The fourth part was directed by Justin Lin and produced by Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel, and Michael Fottrell. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker return for unlimited craziness and thrill, and Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) and Brian O’Connor (played by Paul Walker) aimed to take down an importer of heroin. The ex-convict and the FBI officer were seen geared up and decided to team up to bring the dealer down. With the help of notable alias, the duo raced through the world of crime and danger coming out victorious towards the end. According to the online reviews, this part and its storyline are said to be closest to the 2001 released part one. It tried to retain the original theme, and the core story was introduced to the audience. The 107-minute-long film managed to leave an impression on the audience with its incredible storyline and action sequences. Fast 5 (also known as Fast & Furious 5: Rio Heist) is a 2011 released American Action-crime film. Directed by Justin Lin and produced by Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel, and Michael Fottrell. During the filming of Fast 5, the makers of the film decided to deviate from the actual core theme of the fast and furious film franchise which involved street racing but decided to put in the element of a heist involving cars. Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner were seen traveling from one country to another to dodge the authorities. Trying to bring their team together one more time to pull off a massive and dangerous heist in the hopes of buying their freedom. The duo was seen caught up and escaping from the dangerous plans of a deadly yet powerful Brazilian drug lord and a federal agent. The newly implemented theme of heist had given the series a new touch of taste and was liked by the audience. The movie managed to score an IMDB rating of 7.3 and was a massive success at the box office, making an estimated profit of about 626.1 million dollars. The filming of Fast 5 was primarily done in the following locations including Atlanta, Puerto Rico, and Rio de Janeiro. This movie became the highest grossing film in the entire fast and furious franchise and is considered the most successful part, which is categorized as a sleek, over the top and loud movie. Fast & Furious 6

Fast & Furious 6 also goes by the name Furious 6 is a 2013 released American action film and a continuation of the fast and furious franchise. Directed by Justin Lin and produced by Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel, and Clayton Townsend. The main cast members of the film return for an amazing sequel with some new cars and lots of crime and drama. The movie retains its original theme of car racing, but the chase just got a little better this time. Hobbs (Played by Dwayne Johnson) was tasked to take down a group of mercenary drivers who were always evading him, but this time Hobbs teams up with the ex-convict, Dominic Toretto, and the FBI agent, Brian O’Conner. Hobbs takes the help of Dominic and his crew members in exchange for clearing their names from the criminal record. Thus, given a chance to redeem themselves for their past crimes Dominic and his crew come in all action to take down the group of mercenaries but things take a dangerous turn for Dominic when he was completely sidetracked after encountering his presumed dead girlfriend named Letty. Given an IMDB rating of 7.0, the movie managed to win the hearts of the audience just like its previous parts. Being a perfect blend of action-packed crime and high-octane humor, Fast and furious 6 retainers the original crime-thriller genre of the franchise and managed to become a perfect blockbuster formula that thrived well at the box office and was commercially and critically acclaimed by the audience and critics worldwide. Furious 7

Furious 7, the 7th installment in the fast and furious franchise also goes by the name “Fast and furious 7” is a 2015 released film. The main cast members include Vin Diesel (playing the role of Dominic Toretto) and Paul Walker (playing the role of Brian O’Conner), Furious 7 was the last and final movie that featured Paul Walker. What makes this sequel so special is that it was the last film Paul had filmed before his tragic death. The filming for the movie began in September 2013 but was suspended due to Paul’s sudden demise. The movie was then resumed in April of 2014 and Paul’s incomplete scenes were filmed with Walker’s brothers Cody and Caleb. Furious 7 being made with an estimated budget of 250 million dollars was one of the most expensive films of that time and managed to gain a box office profit of 1.516 billion dollars, which made it the highest-grossing film in the Furious Franchise leaving behind Fast and Fast five. The movie features Dominic and his family caught up in the deadly fires of Quagmire after Shaw’s brother aimed to gain revenge. Trying to escape the blood plans of Shaw’s brother and saving themselves from the deadly trap, the team was also seen battling to protect a crucial program from falling into the wrong hands. The movie was a huge success at the box office because of its incredible storyline and the fans paid tribute to Paul in his last film. The fate of the furious also known as “Fast and the furious 8” is a 2017 released film. The movie features the return of Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel), who finds himself drawn to a dangerous and mysterious woman named Cipher (played by Charlize Theron), who gets him entangled in the world of terror and danger. The crew is seen teaming up to find a way to stop Cipher from spreading her terror and to save the man who brought them together as this strong family. The team comes face-to-face with the dangers and trials that they have never witnessed before. The movie continued to explore its theme of action, thriller, and crime. Directed by F. Gary Gray and produced by Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel, Michael Fottrell, and Chris Morgan. The film stars Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson in the main roles followed by a few other recurring cast members. The movie was made with a budget of 250-270 million dollars and managed to make a box office profit of 1.238 billion dollars. After the tragic demise of Paul Walker, the fate of the furious is the first film in the fast and furious franchise followed by Tokyo Drift which did not star Paul Walker in the role of Brian O’Conner. The movie received mixed reviews from critics and the audience for its storyline and action sequences. A sequel was announced and was later released in the year 2021.

F9 is also known as “F9: The Fast Saga” and “Fast and Furious 9”. It is a 2021 released American film exploring the genres of crime and action. The ninth installment is back again with the movie’s main cast member Vin Diesel (who plays the role of Dominic Toretto) and a few other familiar faces from the previous installments. The fun and action are expected to be nine times what the audience had witnessed in the previous films. Dominic was forced to put the plans of his retirement aside after Cipher, one of his oldest enemies, had escaped with the help of no one other but Dominic’s own estranged brother. Dominic put against two of the deadliest people, one the dangerous cyberterrorist and then his own blood who happened to be an international terrorist. The chase and thrill just got better, with a top-notch thrilling adventure, and the game of cars and life is set to bring out a different level of crime in this part. Just like the previous installments, it is only fair to expect grand things from this movie. For all who missed watching it in theatres, it can stream online. The movie received a grand opening upon its theatrical release and managed to make a profit of 726.2 million dollars. After the theatrical success, the makers decided to release it online soon with the hopes of making more profit. The critics praised the film for its incredible storyline, new cars, better action sequences, and of course the performances of the characters. It received an IMDB rating of 5.2.
