Panasonic has finally made its first smartphone sporting a dual rear camera setup dubbed as Panasonic Eluga Ray 500. However, it’s strange that the company has chosen to silently list the phone on Flipkart rather than officially launching it. As per the listing, the phone carries pretty good specs, yet an affordable price of Rs 8,999. The listing further reveals the device to be available for purchase starting 21st September during Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sale.
Talking about the specs, the Panasonic Eluga Ray 500 puts on a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, the phone draws its power from a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor ticking at 1.25GHz. For multitasking and storage, the phone gets 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory respectively. The storage is further expandable via a MicroSD card up to 128GB.
The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat and packs in a massive 4,000mAh battery. The Panasonic Eliga Ray 500 also sports a front-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated into the home button. As far as photography is concerned, the handset flaunts a dual rear camera setup comprising a 13-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor. Accompanying the rear cameras, there also sits dual-tone LED flash. Up front, there’s a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling.
The Panasonic Eluga Ray 500 is a Dual SIM phone and also support 4G LTE connectivity. Talking about connectivity, the phone gets VoLTE, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM radio, and micro USB 2.0 port. The handset measures 144.26 x 71.26 x 9.2mm in dimensions and weighs 163 grams. It comes in three colour options – Champagne Gold, Mocha Gold and Marine Blue.
