Google is all set to launch the new
Nexus Pixel devices next month and the leaks don’t seem to stop. The display assembly of both the phones has leaked out this time. Clicked side-by-side it shows us the relative size difference between the two devices.
The one of the left is the display panel of the Google Pixel. The Pixel is the smaller device launching this year and is codenamed ‘Sailfish’ for internal purposes. From previous rumours we know that this device will come with a 5.2-inch display. The bigger device is the Pixel XL which is codenamed ‘Marlin’. This phone is said to sport a slightly bigger 5.5-inch display. From the image, it appears that both the phones feature the exact same design on the front. The bezels seem well balanced and have equal thickness on the top and bottom.
The new phones seem to sport 2.5D glass design and it may have Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The front camera is on the left of the speaker grill. Google seems to have moved the proximity and the ambient light sensor under the speaker grill. With this leak it is safe to assume that the device will launch in at least two colors, one with the white panel on the front and the other with the black.
While it is evident that there is no speaker grill at the bottom like the Nexus 6P. But Google could go the Apple way and offer a bottom firing stereo setup. That said, it will be interesting to see what Google has in store for us on 4th of October when the launch is expected.
