Highlights

  • POCO C50 is tipped to launch in India on January 3rd, 2023
  • POCO India is likely to confirm its launch date soon
  • It is expected to arrive as a rebranded version of the Redmi A1

POCO C50 India launch has been revealed in a new report by 91mobiles. Citing information obtained from industry sources, the publication has claimed that the POCO C50 will debut on January 3rd, 2023. Unfortunately, the report has no information on its specifications. To recall, the company had earlier confirmed that it would announce the C50 in the last week of November. However, it did not come true.

It seems that POCO will soon confirm the POCO C50 launch date for the Indian market in the next few days. Coming back to the C50, it was recently spotted with model number 220733SPI in the IMEI database. The model number suggests that the C50 could be a rebranded or tweaked edition of the Redmi A1 Plus.

POCO C50 specifications (rumoured)

Redmi A1 Plus

Redmi A1 Plus features 8MP dual rear cameras

The POCO C500 is likely to house a 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel that offers an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display notch may house a 5-megapixel selfie camera, and its back may feature an 8-megapixel primary camera, an 0.08-megapixel auxiliary camera, and an LED flash. The polycarbonate back of the phone may also feature a fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, the POCO C50 may feature an Helio A22 chipset with up to 3GB of RAM. The phone may offer 32GB of native storage. It may pack a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. It is likely to run on Android 12 OS.

POCO C50 price in India (expected)

The Redmi A1+ is priced at Rs 7,499 in India. Hence, it is likely that the C50 may hit the Indian market with a similar price.

In related news, a recent report claimed that the POCO X5 and the POCO X5 Pro are also planned to launch in Indian in January or February. Speculations are rife that the POCO X5 and X5 Pro could be rebranded or tweaked versions of the Redmi Note 12 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition, respectively.
