Back in August 2018, Xiaomi launched POCO F1 smartphone under its sub-brand POCO. The smartphone debuted with flagship-level specifications and an affordable price tag. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the POCO F1’s successor this year but the brand decided to remain silent. There were even rumors of the Redmi K20 arriving as the POCO F2 which did not happen. Now recently Poco Global Head, Alvin Tse tweeted saying, “You will hear more from POCO in 2020”. The tweet has now been deleted but we managed to take a screenshot. It likely hints at POCO F1’s successor’s launch at some point next year.

The POCO F2 could arrive in 2020
The tweet doesn’t reveal anything about the company’s plans. It doesn’t mention a timeline or details about the upcoming product. Earlier this year it was reported that Xiaomi might discontinue the POCO brand but with Tse’s tweet, we expect the upcoming POCO F2. There is not much information surrounding the POCO F2 but the smartphone’s case appeared on Spigen’s website. It hints at a similar design as the Redmi K20 with a pop-up camera mechanism and a gradient back panel.
The POCO F2 is expected to come with upgraded specifications compared to its predecessor. The device may be powered by Snapdragon 855+ chipset. The smartphone is expected to arrive with an AMOLED display with an integrated fingerprint scanner and upgraded camera setup. These are just speculations so readers are advised to take this with a pinch of salt. We expect more details on the POCO F2 to surface online in the coming weeks.
