POCO F2 launch in India could be around the corner. POCO fans have been waiting for the POCO F1’s successor since its debut. In an AMA session with Anuj Sharma, Country Director, and Manmohan, General Manager of POCO India, it was revealed that the former sub-brand of Xiaomi is working on the next POCO F-series smartphone. This hints that POCO’s upcoming offering could be the POCO F2.
POCO has launched as many as five smartphones this year. The list consists of POCO X2 (review), POCO M2 Pro, POCO M2, POCO X3 and POCO C3 (review). The company had entered the smartphone market way back in 2018 with the flagship killer POCO F1.
POCO F2 could launch in India soon
In May this year, POCO had announced the POCO F2 Pro as a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro for the European market. Since the POCO X2 was introduced as the rebranded Redmi K30 in India, there were expectations of the K30 Pro launching as the POCO F2 Pro. However, POCO GM Manmohan shot down those rumours and confirmed that the POCO F2 will not be a rebadged version.
Earlier, in an interview with Indian Express, POCO Country Director Anuj Sharma stated that the POCO F2 Pro isn’t the true successor to POCO F1. In the AMA session, Manmohan revealed that it is very difficult to recreate the magic of POCO F1 due to various issues during the pandemic.
POCO is expected to drop the ‘Pro’ moniker on its upcoming POCO F2 device. Neither Sharma nor Manmohan revealed the launch date of the next POCO F-series smartphone. Considering that the brand has confirmed the device, we can expect it to debut in the coming months.
Meanwhile, POCO is gearing up to launch the third device globally in its M-series called POCO M3 tomorrow.
