The POCO F2 and POCO F2 Pro have been doing the rounds on the rumour mill for a long time now. While not much is known about the POCO F2, the F2 Pro was widely rumoured to be the rebranded Redmi K30 Pro for global markets. The company has announced the smartphone for European markets through an online-only event.
As expected, the POCO F2 Pro is the Redmi K30 Pro in a new avatar. It features the Snapdragon 865 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, 64MP quad cameras and more as its highlights. Apart from a difference in variants, both the devices are pretty much identical.
POCO F2 Pro specifications and features
The POCO F2 Pro sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display featuring full HD+ screen resolution. The True Full Screen display offers a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, DC dimming, blue-ray filter, HDR10+, an in-screen fingerprint sensor and a screen-to-body ratio of 92.7 percent.
Driving the performance on the smartphone is the Snapdragon 865 SoC with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Aiding the processor is Liquid Cool Technology 2.0 with accurate heat monitoring through a 10 NTC sensor and a large vapour cool chamber.
The camera department on the POCO F2 Pro comprises a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary camera, a 123-degree 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, an industry first 5-megapixel telemacro lens and a 2-megapixel portrait lens. There’s a pop-up camera module housing a 20-megapixel selfie shooter.
Out of the box, the POCO F2 Pro boots Android 10, and comes with the POCO Launcher 2.0. It is powered by a 4,700mAh battery with the support for 30W fast charging, which only takes 63 minutes to charge it fully. Connectivity-wise, the device offers 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and more.
POCO F2 Pro price and availability
POCO is offering the F2 Pro in four paint jobs, namely Neon Blue, Phantom White, Electric Purple and Cyber Grey. The handset will retail for €499 (~Rs 40,740) and €599 (~Rs 48,900) for the 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants, respectively. The POCO F2 Pro will go on sale starting today via Gearbest and AliExpress. The device will soon arrive at major e-commerce websites like official POCO store, Amazon and more.
