Last week, an official confirmation from Xiaomi India revealed that POCO will function as an independent brand. POCO is also expected to launch multiple new products this year. Hence, it is likely that the new brand will be unveiling some other phones apart from the rumoured POCO F2. YouTube channel RevAtlas shared some live shots and key specs of the upcoming POCO F2 Lite smartphone. Hence, it appears that apart from launching the POCO F2 flagship phone, the company could be announcing the POCO F2 mid-ranger phone.
POCO F2 Lite hands on images
The leaked images have only revealed the front design of the POCO F2 Lite smartphone. The first image that shows the “About phone” page reveals the POCO F2 Lite moniker and it appears to be running a custom version of MIUI for POCO users.
The display of the phone features a waterdrop notch. The chin of the device is a bit thick. There is no confirmation on whether it features an LCD or AMOLED display. To keep the cost low, it could be coming with an LCD panel and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner.
POCO F2 Lite specifications and features
The source that leaked the images of the POCO F2 Lite revealed that it will be fuelled by the Snapdragon 765 mobile platform. The SoC will be accompanied by 6GB of RAM. The device is running Android 10. Also, the phone will come equipped with a massive 5,000mAh battery. Other details of the phone are currently under wraps.
The source has also claimed that POCO will be releasing as many as three phones in 2020 including the POCO F2 Lite. As far as the pricing of the F2 Lite is concerned, the source indicates that it could be coming with a more affordable price tag than the POCO F1 smartphone that was made official in 2018 with a staring price of Rs 20,999. Readers are advised to take the POCO F2 Lite leak with a pinch of salt as its authenticity could not be confirmed.
In related news, the mysterious POCO X2 smartphone was seen on the Geekbench benchmarking platform last week. It reveals that the phone has 8GB of RAM and is running Android 10. Since the listing has the same codename as the Redmi K30, it is being said that the K30 could be rebadged as the POCO X2 for India.
