Last year in August, Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO introduced its first smartphone called the POCO F1. The phone arrived as the most affordable Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor-powered offering with a starting price of Rs 20,999. After the POCO F1, the company never launched any other product and even there were rumours that the brand was dead. However, Xiaomi recently put a stop to all rumours and announced that POCO is now an independent brand. Now it looks like POCO is all set to get back in the action as the company has just released a teaser.

The latest tweet from POCO reads “#POCOIsHere and it’ll give chills to others. IYKWWM. Season 2 is live now! Brace yourself for the impact”. The teaser is for version 2.0 of the company. While it is not clear what the “Season 2 is Live now” means, but it clearly suggests that the brand is planning to launch its latest products, starting with the POCO F2. Notably, there are reports about upcoming devices from the company and some model numbers appearing on the certification website. So we expect that the POCO F2’s official launch isn’t far away.
Some recent reports suggest that the Redmi K30 smartphone, which went official in China last month, will debut as one of the POCO handsets. There are reports that the company will be launching as many as three smartphones this year and two of them will be the POCO F2 and POCO F2 Lite. The rumour mill suggests that these products will be based on Mi series smartphones that are available in China.
It’s worth mentioning that apart from releasing the teaser, POCO has slightly changed its logo. The logo doesn’t have the “by Xiaomi” text anymore and simply reads POCO. Also, the yellow colour in the logo is now brighter instead of dark. We can expect more information about the company’s plans in the days to come.
