In December last year, POCO Global Head Alvin Tse had tweeted ‘You will hear more from Poco in 2020’. It hinted at the brand’s upcoming POCO F2, the long anticipated successor to the POCO F1 that was launched back in 2018. POCO has been quiet in the smartphone market over the last year. Now the Xiaomi sub-brand has filed a trademark application for the upcoming POCO F2 in its home country. The trademark documents were first spotted by a Twitter user. It is solid proof that fans can expect the POCO F2 in the coming months.

However, the trademark application doesn’t reveal much information about the POCO F2 smartphone. Leaks and rumours surrounding the device are also scarce. Xiaomi had filed a trademark for the POCO F1 two months before its India launch. So we can expect the POCO F2 to launch in the country in the first half of 2020. The POCO F1 arrived with flagship-level specifications at an aggressive price tag. The Xiaomi sub-brand will likely continue the tradition with POCO F2. It is expected to pack significant upgrades compared to its predecessor.
Now that the POCO F2 trademark has been filed, we expect more information to crop up in the coming weeks.
