POCO F3 GT tipped to launch in India soon, could be a Redmi K40 Game Edition rebrand

Yesterday, Xiaomi announced the Dimensity 1200 powered Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition smartphone in China. Prior to its announcement, there were reports that the company may also a Dimensity 1100 SoC powered variant of the phone. While it is still unclear when it will be arriving in China, a fresh leak claims that this model could be launching as the POCO F3 GT.

Tipster Kacper Skrzypek managed to spot monikers like POCO M2 Reloaded and Xiaomi Mi 11X in the MIUI code well before their official announcement. The same tipster has shared a screenshot of the MIUI code, which reveals the POCO F3 GT moniker.

POCO F3 GT with Dimensity 1100 launching in India soon

A few days back, a Xiaomi phone with model number M2104K10AC was spotted at China’s Master Lu benchmarking platform. It was found to be equipped with specs like a Full HD+ resolution display, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of built-in storage, and Dimensity 1100 chipset.

The tipster has spotted the Indian version of this device in the MIUI code. It is codenamed as Ares and it has the M210K410I model number. This model was recently spotted at India’s IMEI database with a POCO branding and its MIUI code finding reveals that it will be debut in China as the POCO F3 GT.

POCO announced the POCO F1 as its first F-series phone in India backed in 2018. The brand took a sabbatical in 2019 and relaunched as an independent company in 2020. Since then, it has launched a couple of X, M, and C series smartphones in India, but it has not launched an F-series model snce. It appears that the POCO F3 GT could be the next F-series phone for the country. At present, there is no confirmation on whether the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will be coming to the Indian markets.

The Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition has a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz display, a side-facing fingerprint scanner, gaming shoulder buttons, JBL powered stereo speakers, Dimensity 1200 processor, up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM, up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and 5,065mAh battery with 67W fast charging. It has a 16MP front camera and 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple rear cameras. It is priced at RMB 1,999 (~Rs 23,000) onwards.
