POCO F3 could debut at March 22nd global launch event

POCO will be holding a global launch event at 8 PM GMT on March 22nd to announce a new smartphone. The tweet that confirms the launch date mentions that it will be “the biggest POCO launch of the year.” Since POCO fans are eagerly waiting for an F-series flagship from the brand, it appears that the company may announce the rumoured POCO F3 flagship at this upcoming launch event.

In a recent tweet, reliable tipster Mukul Sharma had claimed that the POCO F3 will be a rebadged version of the Redmi K40, which went official in February in China. Hence, it is expected to offer users key features like a 120Hz display, Snapdragon 870 chipset, and a 48-megapixel triple camera system.

POCO F3 specifications (Rumoured)

The POCO F3 is likely to feature a 6.67-inch S-AMOLED display with a punch-hole design. It may support a Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 870 mobile platform could be powering the device with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It is also likely to sport a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

For capturing selfies, the POCO F3 may house a front camera of 20-megapixel. It may feature a triple camera setup on the back with a 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide snapper, and a 5-megapixel telephoto lens.

The POCO F3 could be backed by a 4,520 battery that may tag along with 33W fast charging support. It may come with other features like dual SIM, 5G, and NFC. In China, the base model of the Redmi K40 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at RMB 1999 (~Rs 22,300).

POCO F3 / Redmi K40 may arrive as Xiaomi Mi 11X in India

It is speculated that a rebranded version of the Redmi K40 will also be arriving in India. However, instead of POCO F3 moniker, it may debut as the Xiaomi Mi 11X smartphone. In addition, the Redmi K40 Pro may get rebadged as the Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro in India.
