POCO F5 could be coming soon as a rebranded version of a Redmi phone, reveals a report by Xiaomiui. A Poco smartphone with model number 23049PCD8G was recently certified by Singapore’s IMDA authority. The device was thought to be the upcoming POCO X5 GT handset. However, the IMEI database listing of the device that has been spotted by the publication reveals that it will be called the POCO F5 when it debuts in the market.
The Indian version of the device with model number 23049PCD8I has also been spotted at India’s BIS authority recently. This indicates that it could also be released in India.
POCO F5 could be rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo
Reports have revealed that Redmi may launch a new phone named the Redmi Note 12 Turbo by the end of March in China. The device has already been spotted with model number 23049RAD8C in the databases of Chinese certification sites, such as MIIT and 3C. The similarities between the model numbers of the Note 12 Turbo and the POCO F5, suggest that the F5 could be a global version of the China-exclusive Note 12 Turbo.
POCO F5 specifications (rumoured)
The POCO F5 is likely to house a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that produces a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 powered device could have up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The highest variant of the device may offer 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The F5 may house a 5,500mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. There is no word on the camera specs of the device. It is also rumoured to come with an IR blaster and a linear motor.
As per a recent report, the serial production of the POCO F5 began in Europe and Asia last month. Hence, it appears that it may launch within the first quarter of 2023 in different markets.
POCO F5 Pro specifications (rumoured)
The POCO phone with model number 23013PC75G that has been spotted on multiple certification platforms will debut in the global market as the POCO F5 Pro. It is likely to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K60, which is exclusively available in China. Hence, it may come with specs like a 6.67-inch AMOLED QHD+ 120Hz screen, a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, a 5,000mAh battery with 67W charging, MIUI 13-based Android 13 OS, a 16-megapixel front camera, and a 64-megapixel (main, with OIS) + 8-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera unit.
