POCO F5 Indian variant visits Geekbench, launch imminent

POCO F5’s Indian variant with model number 23049PCD8I has appeared in the database of the Geekbench benchmarking site. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) earlier this week approved the same variant.

The Geekbench appearance of the POCO F5’s Indian edition is a good hint that the company could be internally testing its performance ahead of its official announcement. As per other reports, the POCO F5 is expected to launch in the global market and in India in the second quarter of this year. The POCO F5 5G’s India variant has appeared with its model number 23049PCD8I in Geekbench’s database. The CPU details available in the listing revealed that it is powered by Qualcomm’s 2.92GHz octa-core processor.

The GPU details that can be found in the source code of the listing, reveal that the SoC is equipped with the Adreno 725 GPU. Hence, it it can be concluded that the POCO F5 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 chipset. The listing reveals that the device will arrive with 8GB of RAM and the Android 13 OS, which is likely to be overlaid with the MIUI 14.

In the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench 6, the POCO F5 scored 1118 and 4236 points, respectively. Reports have claimed that the POCO F5 will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which was announced in China last month. It is already known that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo has the “marble” codename. The same codename mentioned as “marblein” can be seen in the motherboard field in the Geekbench listing. Here, the letters “in” in the codename indicate that it is an Indian variant.

POCO F5 specifications (rumoured)

The POCO F5 is expected to offer the same specifications that are available on the Redmi Note 12 Turbo. It will arrive with a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ 120Hz screen, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. It will pack a 5,500mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging.

The POCO F5 will have a 16-megapixel camera on the front. On the back, the device will have an OIS-enabled 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The device will have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

POCO F5 price in India

The POCO F5 is expected to arrive in two variants, such as 8GB RAM + 256GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. It may have a sub-Rs 30,000 starting price. It is expected to arrive in three colors, such as black, blue, and white. As far as the POCO F5 Pro is concerned, reports have claimed that it may not launch in India.
