POCO has finally launched its third smartphone in India, following the POCO F1 and more recent POCO X2. Unfortunately, the POCO M2 Pro is not a completely new product as expected, and appears to be a rebadged Redmi Note 9 Pro. POCO M2 Pro vs Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6: performance and software
In terms of performance, the Realme 6 is the odd one out here with the 12nm MediaTek Helio G90T SoC and Mali-G76MC4 GPU ticking at its core. The newly launched POCO M2 Pro as well as the Redmi Note 9 Pro, are both powered by the more power efficient 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset backed by Adreno 618 graphics. While Helio G90T is a capable mid-range gaming processor, the Snapdragon 720G with Snapdragon’s Elite Gaming features comes out on top here.
The POCO M2 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro run MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box. However, while the latter gets the standard MIUI treatment, the POCO M2 Pro comes with POCO Launcher atop the MIUI interface, sans ads. The Realme 6, on the other hand, features Realme UI with Android 10 as its base.
Coming to the configurations, the POCO M2 Pro is being offered in 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB models. The Realme 6 also gets three variants – 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB. The Redmi Note 9 Pro gets just two variants, 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB.
The Realme 6 offers the highest configuration variant here, however, it misses out in the processor department by a slight margin. The POCO M2 Pro with the Snapdragon 720G and three configurations to choose from emerges the winner here.

However, POCO M2 Pro gets an upper hand here because of the 33W fast charging, compared to 18W fast charging supported by the Note 9 Pro. The Realme 6 gets a smaller 4,300mAh battery, with support for 30W flash charge technology.

POCO M2 Pro vs Redmi Note 9 Pro vs Realme 6: verdict
As you can tell by now, the POCO M2 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro are almost identical except for the 33W fast charging and an additional variant. The Realme 6, in comparison, misses slightly in terms of processor and battery, but more than makes up for them through a 90Hz super-smooth display and 64-megapixel camera setup on the back. But if a brilliant display or powerful cameras are your requirements, the Realme 6 is a no brainer here.
